Intramural Frisbee Team Takes Championship
October 2, 2007
Perry Field House-
The FIJI Frisbee Team surely reveled in the taste of victory after defeating Phi Kappa
Tau in thesemi-finals and Delta Tau Delta in the championship on Tuesday Night.
The team, studded with superstars Joe Rosenberg, Tim Sabo, Greg Heben, Kurt
Woodruff, Logan Burnside, Josh Davenport, Tom Robertson, Ryan Rosemeier and
Matt Walters, played two impressive games in a row to defeat both teams to set
themselves as Frisbee Champions.
Phi Kappa Tau, coming out early for the first score in the semifinals, played a tough
first half. Tim Sabo suffered torso injuries during the game, but the FIJIs stayed tough
and capitalized for the win.
The championship against Delta Tau Delta was a nail-biter; literally coming down to
the last minute. The FIJIs came out on top, defeating the Delts 17-15 following a
score to take the lead with 1:03 left in the game and another by Tom Robertson to
secure the win with a mere 16 seconds remaining. Tim Sabo
returned during the second half and proved himself as a crucial player, scoring twice
with what might be a broken rip injury. Hats off to the dedicated fans who kept the
Perry Field House loud for the entire night.
